The Sun Bowl is one of the oldest and greatest bowl games in college football. Will the Miami Hurricanes (8-4 SU, 7-5 ATS) be up for the job? They’re 3-point “road” dogs for Saturday’s matchup in El Paso versus the Washington State Cougars (8-4 SU, 9-3 ATS), in the first-ever meeting between these two clubs. Kick-off is at 2 PM ET on CBS.

Miami will be led by interim head coach Larry Scott, who was promoted from tight ends coach after the dismissal of Al Golden in late October. The Hurricanes are 4-1 SU and 3-2 ATS under Scott; Mark Richt will take over the program following Saturday’s game. Miami has a promising young quarterback in sophomore Brad Kaaya, but he’s operating behind a makeshift offensive line, and safety Jamal Carter has been suspended for violating team rules.
WSU also has a potent offense with sophomore quarterback Luke Falk, who had to sit out the Apple Cup game against Washington with a concussion. The Cougars present a big matchup problem for the ‘Canes: running back Gerard Wicks (5.9 yards per carry) should get plenty of touches versus a Miami rush defense that’s among the worst in the entire FBS.
