Internet Sports Radio

Sports Handicapper Ron Raymond Ron Raymond is a Sports Handicapper and the founder of Phoenixsports.com.

Let’s face it sports fans, “Talk Sports Radio” as we use to know it, has taken a 360 degree turn the last 5 years and what lies ahead is open season on conventional radio station who still broadcast out of their AM and FM radio stations. Let’s face it, the Internet has opened the air waves for start up brick and mortars type shops to start up their own Talk Sports Radio shows and networks and it’s only a matter of time before major radio stations adapt to the new way of streaming sports on the radio.

What use to maybe cost millions to start up a talk sports radio show and have it broadcast in major cities like New York, Los Angles, Miami and Dallas, can now be a reality for under five thousands dollars or less. All you need is a computer, a streaming company and some die hard sports radio talk show host and you my friend, have your own sports radio station on the internet.

In fact, Phoenix Sports Ticket handicapper Ross Benjamin has joined former ESPN Radio talk show host Lake Lewis on the Sports Journey Radio Broadcast network and has his own Sports Radio show from 1pm to 3pm during the weekdays. Ross is one of the best sports Handicappers I’ve been around the last 15 years and his ability to win on a consistent basis is one of the most underrated facts in the handicapping industry. However, now that sports fans have the ability to listen to Ross daily from 1pm to 3pm EST Monday to Friday, they will see that Ross has been flying under the radar screen for quite a while.

As for the Sports Journey Broadcast Network, Lake Lewis Jr. and his team are innovating how the future of sports radio will be listened too and I wouldn’t be surprised if major radio networks like a ESPN Radio or a FOX SPORTS RADIO start looking at this way of cutting cost or picking up some of the Sports Journey’s programs like the Ross Benjamin show. Let’s face it, we are going through a pretty tough economic time right now, the recession has crippled many industries and in a “gobble or be gobbled” type world we live in right now, it will only take one major player to get the ball rolling and start looking at home office start ups like the Sports Journey Broadcast network to change the way they do business.
