Step 1: Open a betting account at Bookmaker.com

Step 2: Fund your account with your credit card.

Step 3: Once logged in, click on “Racebook” in the top left hand corner.

Step 4: Select Track: Pimlico

Step 5: Go to race #12

Step 6: Make your bet and confirm it!

Hockey Handicapper Ron Raymond The Preakness Stakes will take place on May 16th at Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore, Maryland and it’s the second leg of the Triple Crown of Horse Racing. As you have the Kentucky Derby, the Preakness and the Belmont Stakes in June in New York. The distance of the Preakness race is 1 3/16 miles (9.5 furlongs) and its run on a dirt track and Mine that bird who won the 135th Kentucky Derby on May 2nd will be running in this race.

As of May 6th, six horses who ran in the 135th Kentucky Derby have confirmed their entry for the Preakness Stakes and those horses include; Flying Private, General Quarters, Musket Man, Papa Clem, Pioneer of the Nile and the derby winner “Mine that bird”.

Mine that bird showed the patience of a champion, as the horse made its move at the ¾ pole and zig zag its way to the lead and won by 6¾-length to capture everybody’s hearts, as it was truly a story tale ending that day for the underdogs! In fact, Mine that bird was a 50-1 longshot and paid out $103.20 to win, second place finisher Pioneer of the Nile went off at 4-1 and the place money paid out $8.40, while Musket Man at 20-1 paid out $12.00. If you were one of the lucky triffecta bettors who bet the $1 triffecta and boxed 8-16-2, then you walked away with $20,750.30.

Energy Quest

The quote of the day came from long time trainer Bob Baffert who trained Pioneer of the Nile and when Mine that bird made his move, Baffert said; "Who is that? Someone said, 'Mine That Bird,' and he said, 'That damn Calvin Borel again.' He's amazing here. Those New Mexico boys had a good horse. The cowboys win today."

The bookmakers have not released their odds as of yet for the Preakness Stakes, but I invite you to check back here on Friday, May 15th, as I will release my Preakness Stakes Horse Racing picks and I will talk to a few bookmakers that I know and let you know where the smart money is going.

In the meantime, you can bet at The Greek Sports book on whether Mine that bird can win the Triple Crown this year. The odds are +1200 for yes and -2000 for no. This means, if you wagered $100 on Mine that bird to win the Triple Crown and he does, you win $1200. If you said no, then you would need to wager $2000 to win $100 dollars.

RON RAYMOND'S PREAKNESS STAKES PREDICTIONS

Hockey Handicapper Ron RaymondRachel Alexandra seems to be the public choice and from a betting perspective, that’s the horse the bookmakers want you to bet on and I call it my sucker trap bet! When was the last time a favorite at post time of the big 3 (Kentucky Derby, Preakness Stakes and Belmont) won a race? It’s been a while and let me ask you this question, if Rachel Alexandra is such a great horse, why was it kept out of the Kentucky Derby?

Here are my Preakness Stakes horse predictions picks for this Saturday’s Preakness Stakes race at Pimlico:

$100 on #2 horse “Mine that Bird” to “WIN and Place” (WINNER!)

*Note: This type of betting is called “Double Dutching”, this means you pick a horse to come in 1st or 2nd. This way, if a horse comes in 2nd, you hope he’s at good odds to get your money back on both bets.

$50 Exactor Box Bet: #2 Mine that Bird and #9 horse Pioneer of the Nile

$12 Triactor Box: #2 Mine that Bird, #9 Pioneer of the Nile and #6 Terrain.
