St. Jude Classic Golf Tournament Odds & Predictions

St. Jude Classic Golf Payouts
Sports Handicapper Ron Raymond Phil Mickelson will be in the field at the St. Jude Classic and it will be an emotional week for the Arizona State Sun Devil’s graduate, as his wife Amy is battle breast cancer and this will be his first tournament since he made the announcement last month.

Furthermore, it’s the last tournament before the 2009 US Open Championship and Tiger Woods didn’t waste any time getting ready for Bethpage Black, as he went right from winning the Memorial Golf Tournament on Sunday heading right to Old Bethpage, New York to get a “feel” of the course by getting in a practice round before heading back to Florida.

Plus, if you look at the field and the golfing odds below, you can see the European PGA players have made the quest across the pond to get their body clocks adjusted to the Eastern Time Zone and get a round in vs. a North American field and get in the US Media environment, as next week will be a “Tiger Spin”.

Lefty is the favorite heading into the weekend as a +705 favorite, whereas Justin Leonard who won this event in 2005 and 2008 along with Sergio Garcia are both +1550 odds to win. Meaning, if you wanted to wager at a online Sportsbook on Phil Mickelson to win the 2009 St. Jude Classic Golf Tournament, you would lay a $100 wager on lefty to win $705. If you like Leonard or Garcia, the same applies, bet $100 to win $1550 if Leonard or Garcia should win the event come Sunday.

Who will win the 2009 St. Jude Classic?

It's still early to handicap this field, but I’m going to look more into the Euro’s in this tournament and see who’s hitting a nice ball and don’t ignore David Toms who won this event in 2003 and 2004.

The purse for the St. Jude Classic is $5.6 million dollars, where the winner takes home $1,008,000 in winnings. The course record belongs to John Cook who shot a -26 in 1996 and has a course aggregate record of 258.

Stay tuned to see who I like, as I will have my 3 Gold, Silver and Bronze golf picks on Wednesday. In fact, I gave out Tiger Woods +325 last week as my Silver pick, as Kenny Perry (gold) and Ian Poulter (bronze) made the cut, but never flirted with the leaders.

Ron Raymond's Golf Predictions

Sports Handicapper and Professional Gambler Ron Raymond haas release his 2009 St.Jude Classic golf predictions. Ron’s golf picks are ranked from Gold (Top Play), Silver (Medium odds) to Bronze (longshot odds).

Updated: 6/10/2009 1:37:50 PM

Gold Pick: Tim Clark +1850 - Tim is coming off a solid performance at the Crowne Plaza Invitational a few weeks back where he placed 2nd and placed 9th at the Players Championship. Great odds in this field for the South African!

Silver Pick: David Toms +1550 - Here’s my middle long shot sleeper pick, as I like to play on golfers who have experience on a course where they have won before.

Bronze Pick: Alex Cejka +9050 - Alex flirted with the leaders in the first 2 rounds of the Players championship this year, but melted down on Saturday and Sunday when the pressure was getting to him. Maybe this time around, he knows how to handle it and gives us a reason to cheer for him on Sunday, should he contend.

In the meantime, bet on the St. Jude Classic golf tournament with Bookmaker.com

Where can you Wager on the US Open Golf Tournament?

Ron Raymond has been in the online sports handicapping business since 1996 and his top Sportsbooks he recommends are with Sportsbooks who he believes are the best Sportsbooks in the industry today.

Golf General Betting Rules

Bet on all Major PGA Golfing Events Straight Up money line betting as well as matchups.

Bet right up until tee-off time.

In head-to-head matchups, both golfers must tee-off in order to have action. If 1 player misses the cut, his adversary is deemed the winner. If both players miss the cut the lower score wins. If both players have the same score, then all wagers are refunded.

Special Handicap Head to Heads If a player withdraws after tee off or misses the cut the player who plays the most holes wins.

Playoffs do not count for handicap bets.

To Win a Tournament All bets are treated as "All In". All players quoted have action regardless if a player withdraws before the tournament begins and are settled as a loss. In the event of a tie where 3 or more competitors are offered in one betting option, the payout will be divided by the number of players tied. For example 2 players tie for the Top USA player at the British Open will result in the normal payout given divided by 2.

If a tournament is shortened, after it has started, then all bets stand. Bets accepted after the end of a day's play are void unless there is further play, which counts towards the result of the tournament (other than a playoff). Or the betting is specifically stated to be on the outcome of a playoff.

If a tournament is officially abandoned, all bets on the tournament are void, except options that have already been decided.
