Here’s my take on tonight’s NHL Games.
Atlanta – NYR: OVER 5.5
*Note: The fact the Rangers won game 1 and 2 says it all about the Thrashers! I feel the Thrashers aren’t hungry enough right now and they don’t have the killer instinct as the other teams have right now in the playoffs. You look at every other series, you see guys fighting, getting cut, there’s some huge hits being made and this series is flying under the radar screen like it’s a regular season game. Rangers blow them out tonight at MSG.
Rangers 7 Atlanta 4
Ottawa – Pittsburgh: UNDER 6.5
*Note: The Pens came out too strong in the first period in Game 3 and they had no legs for the second and third period. If Michel Therrien is a good coach, he starts to send one guy in on the forecheck and just sit back in the neutral zone. I see this angle being played out tonight, but Ottawa’s maturity is reigning over the young guns at this point and time.
Ottawa 3 Pittsburgh 2
Vancouver – Dallas UNDER 5.0
*Note: Let’s face it, this series seems to have 2-1 or 3-2 written in nearly every game. If the Stars want to get to the next round, they need to open it up, but it doesn’t look like it’s going to happen. The Canucks forwards are better right now and the Stars need Modano and Ribeiro to start scoring, or else it’s lights out for the Starts. Under is the call here tonight.
Dallas 3 Vancouver 1
Anaheim – Minnesota: UNDER 5.0
*Note: Wow, I can’t believe the Wild are just a none factor. I’m sort of embarrassed that I’ve picked them to win it all to be honest with you. They have no finish and the Ducks big 3 on Defense have been the difference.
Minnesota 2 Anaheim 1
Calgary PK +125 vs. Detroit
*Note: The Flames are one of the top teams at home and with that great Calgary crowd behind them, this is their time to get back in the series. Good value here on the Flames.
